The invasive bluegrass band

Welcome to the website of Cheatgrass. We are from Corvallis Oregon in the beautiful Willamette Valley. We do play some mighty fine bluegrass songs and instrumentals as well as a varietal of other species (hence the cheat part).

We’re happy to report that we’re playing twice next week. On Wednesday, July 10, we’ll be playing at Oakshire Brewing Public House, 207 Madison St., Eugene, for an event that is a fundraiser for the McKenzie River Trust We’ll be playing from 6:00 to 8:00, and one dollar from each pint sold goes to the trust. Here’s more info from the trust’s website:

Later that week, on Saturday, July 13, we’ll be back for the third year in a row at McKenzie General Store on Highway 126, 52 miles upriver from Eugene. They have nice vibe, with a comfortable outdoor seating area and a newly expanded menu. They’re open until 10:00 PM, so we’ll start around 7:00 and play past 9:00. And if you stay until Sunday, you can hear the talk of Professor Gordon Grant!

Look for us this summer in Eugene (Oakshire Brewing), McKenzie Bridge (McKenzie Bridge General Store), and Falls City (The Breadboard). Details coming soon.
